After months of living as an “introvert”, I finally had the chance to visit Sydney Aquarium located at Darling Harbour. I can’t be more fascinated by the underwater creatures that they have in the Aquarium.

Darling Harbour is located at the west side of Sydney CBD. It’s extremely easy to reach there. From Chatswood, it’s just a train ride to Townhall Train Station, walk a km to the west and you’re at Darling Harbour already.

Sydney Aquarium & Sydney Wildlife World is just beside the Pedestrian Bridge in Darling Harbour. Both these tourism spots are under the same roof but you have to pay for two tickets for them. For my case, I went to the Sydney Aquarium only.

There are tonnes of underwater wildlife to watch in there. So many that they made me wonder who the ones who are actually watching? Are the creatures watching us or are we watching the creatures? Haha.

The best part of Sydney Aquarium is the 2 big aquariums where Dugongs and Sharks are displayed. Those two are the most interesting part because they have tunnels underwater which makes it looks like sea worlds.

Here’s the video of the Dugong eating some seaweeds I took in HD in Sydney Aquarium.

Here are some highlights of the creatures in Sydney Aquarium which some I barely know what they are …

Is this a terrapin?

Eels, now you see them, now you don't

Puny little croc

Fantastic sea world structure

This thing killed Steve Irvine

The Last Part

At the ending part of the Sydney Aquarium, there are benches around combined with very soothing underwater musics. The big aquarium in front of you could easily be misinterpreted as a large screen saver with various underwater wild lives. It’s dark and many people actually fell asleep in there.

Overall I think the Sydney Aquarium still have a lot of rooms for improvements. I would definitely revisit the place again, hopefully they will have more creatures by then!

Here’s another must-go places if you want to spend your holiday in Australia

On 20th July, we (myself and my aunt’s family) visited 2 main places, The Rocks (not the rock is cooking ok?) and Sydney Opera House. It was the last day of World Youth Day, the pope’s influence were still strong at the Sydney Central Business District (CBD) and the pilgrims were still singing like mad people around the city, so we decided to go into Sydney CBD by train instead.

As we were walking out from Circular Quay trainstation. The first thing that was shoved right in front of my face was this, the hugest ship I’ve ever met in my entire life.

This ship, by size is bigger than some of the big buildings in Sydney CBD. From this angle, it looks like it’s bigger than the Harbour Bridge. Her name is Pacific Dawn, what a sweet name.

The Rocks

So our first stop was The Rocks. It was said to be the best market, but some owners of the stores there claimed that Paddington is a better place to sell. They mostly sell handcrafts there, but there was some jeweleries that was chromed in Gold and Silver there, those are really good. I bet any girl would just fall in love with those jeweleries.

Anyways, this picture below will certainly prove that why the Rocks Market was a better market than Paddington, just have a good look.

I did not capture the video, but I have the pictures though. That heel is made of glass, and that dude did it with oxyacetylene gas I think. The torch looked like the one I had used in TAR College workshops. LOL

After visiting The Rocks, we decided to go over to Sydney Opera House to capture some real close pictures. But along the way, this dude performed some real good tricks. Just click on it and you’ll see quite clearly that he was actually juggling a knife, a torch (the one you use to light up the Olympics fire) and an apple. It took me some time to notice that he was eating the apple when it passes through him. I have no idea how he did that but it was just marvelous.

He was clearly looking for money there and after the performance, everybody put in money into his bag. We are poor so 5 of us only gave him 1 AUD.

Sydney Opera House

So we walked up north-east until we reached one of the most glorifying place of Australia, The Sydney Opera House. Seriously the building is just magnificent! All the curve at the ceiling, the sharp ends, ahh I’m falling in love, and God knows why with a building. Since I’m new to the place so Sherlyn be my tourist guide and took me around the place.

The gulls here are not afraid of anybody, it would go as near as a meter to a person and show off their white feathers! LOL Even today when I was coming back home from school, that damn gull was ahead of me and I felt like I am playing "catch" with it. Grr, seagulls give me bad impressions from "Finding Nemo".

A picture I took before we got closer, this was the best picture I’ve taken of the Sydney Opera House. It’s a bit gloomy though, because there were dark clouds so the day was a bit dark.

A picture I took when I was wondering at the end of the Sydney Opera House. I took pictures from the Harbour Bridge before, but that day I took pictures of the bridge from Sydney Opera House. Look at the background, the sky was raining dark.

While we were starting to leave the Opera House to get our dinner, we saw this policemen taking pictures with about 8 or 9 tourists. They were taking turns so I joined!

Then … they took me to jail, can you believe that?

After having our dinner, we went to darling harbour. And Cher taught me some great tricks, to urinate into the stream of water.

Evil people. I’m disappointed in you Cher! I thought you were a good person.

Here’s something for you to guess. Where is this?

Hints:
1. At one of the tourist spots.
2. One trip there is about AUD 350 (or is it AUD 250?).

Good luck guessing.

Bondi is a small but well known area located 6-7 Kilometers towards the east of Sydney City, where the popular Bondi Beach is located. Sorry to disappoint you, we did not, by any means in our plan, planned to visit Bondi Beach. However, we visited Gap Park at Watsons Bay (Northward from Bondi Beach) and Mackenzies Bay(Southward from Bondi Beach) where many of the best sceneries from Sydney are located. Mind you these places are the best if you want to spend your holiday in Australia.

It’s a bit late here so I don’t think I want to talk too much for this post.

Gap Park at Watsons Bay

The birdeye view from Wikimapia.org

Some sort of an entrance. Look, the first thing they give you are penalties. Sucks huh? But many of the tourists doesn’t give a damn about it. Haha

What a beauty shot captured from above. I was hoping for bigger waves actually, this was the best I can capture. Some were captured by Sherlyn though.

Can see the Harbour Bridge from faraway and the Sydney Tower(thinnest and tallest).

A capture of the opposite side of the cliff.

When we were walking over to the opposite side, Cher wanted to hang on the anchor. Took her awhile though. Haha.

We were at that cliff taking shots before.

Mackenzies Bay

The birdeye view from Wikimapia.org

An evening shot of the cliffs. I edited the cranes off it so it looks nicer like that.

We were at the opposite before, taking shots towards here.

This is Tamarama Bay. You can see this from Mackenzies Bay. Many surfers waits for the wave to surf here. But seriously I have no idea how they do it. It’s so cold in the winter, it’s about 15′C and they can surf at the sea. Crazy people …

Here’s some nature stuff Sherlyn and I captured. We captured some birds actually, but it’s very blur so I decided not to put them in the blog. Enjoy yourself!

I’m not sure it’s dead or not, maybe it’s winter that’s why it’s withered. Nevertheless, I love this picture.

Here are some flowers I have never seen before.

Our original plan was to eat at Hurricane’s Grill. But we went to Bondi earlier just to have a look at these lovely places.

Anyways, I dedicate this post to my parents at Malaysia. I love you mom and dad and I thank you so much for sponsoring me to study in Sydney. I’ll bring you to Bondi Beach the next time you come here alright?

Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the crucial tourists visit spots in Sydney. It’s about 2.4 Km long and I had walked it today. It takes about 25 minutes to walk from one end to another. The Harbour Bridge connects Milsons Point (Northern part, where the Luna Park is located) and Millers Point (Sydney city area). It is great to be on the bridge as you can see different types of scenery there, but you’re only limited to the Eastern part of the bridge unless you cycle on the cycle lane.

Many people go there to jog when the sun shines (because it’s not hot at all in winter) but personally I feel that jogging there might backfire the main idea of exercising. When we exercise, we’re expected to breath in fresh air but on the bridge where cars are passing by most of the time, all those joggers breath in carbon monoxide instead. There might be some sciences behind this but from my own view, it’s harzadous.

Okok, I will stop complaining. Anyways, the bridge has a great view over the Sydney Opera House, which is really facinating. It’s just too bad my Olympus FE-280 is not good enough to capture nice pictures. Now I regret to the maximum for not getting the Canon Powershot G9, what a waste.

Here are the pictures,

Great views from the front to the back. Any tourist would not want to miss this.

Here’s the view of the city from the bridge. The Opera House is nicely placed at the left. Love this picture, I swear it’s better at night.

Well, these boats are different from what I’ve seen in Boleh-land. Look at the middle one, it looks like Jack Sparrow is in it.

When you’re at the other end, the Miller’s Point. The Sydney City view. Looks quiet, what do you think?

It’s a bit too bad I can’t walk the Western cycling lane. Else I’d be able to take more photographs. Stupid rules.

The toll is AUD3.00 per drive through, and no change if you don’t have smaller coins … Yeah what a rip off!

If you come for a Holiday in Australia and have no idea where you want to spend your AUD 300. Here is a good place to do so. Spend AUD 300 and enjoy one of the best views on top of Sydney Harbour Bridge.

There you go, all the scenes that you can enjoy from the Harbour Bridge. There’s even some sort of tour where you need to pay AUD 9 to walk up the pylon. Wait until I settle down with a powerful camera I will come here again and climb the pylon to get better pictures.

When you get down the bridge at the Sydney side. You’re facing directly at The Rocks street, which I heard has one of the most happening market around Sydney. We might even be there the next time when registration opens.

Ok, these are all I’d like to share. It’s still freezing and my nose is giving me a real headache.

Paddington Art and Craft Market. One of the most prestigious market I’ve seen in Sydney (well of course, I’m only here for 5 days). This is like Petaling Street of Malaysia, except that you don’t get to see pirated VCD sellers asking you to buy their hardcore porn.

I woke up as early as 6:30 to get ready. My breath is like a chimney in the morning wind. Myself, Aunt Sarah and PingLian(cousin, visit PingLian.com ) drove all the way down from Chatswood to Paddington to open PingLian’s art market. It’s so cool here, we can throw all the PingLian’s draw at our selling corner, then go jogging and nobody will take your stuff. They don’t even touch them! In Boleh-land if we do that, it’s a goner.

So after jogging, we came back to Paddington Art and Craft Market to establish our own stall.

Cool huh? There are bookmarks, canvas, window, limited and various types of photocopied PingLian draws. I did not take individual pictures, if you want to view them you can go to the gallery view at PingLian.com.

The market opens at about 8:30AM (i think) until 4 PM. Most of the time it’s Aunt Sarah that’s doing the job. I only did other kind of stuff like packing and arranging, the easy job… for the newbie. Hoho, but because of me, Aunt Sarah peaked her sale today. I bring luck man.

I noticed the many Australians love PingLian’s art very much. Seriously, try to visit PingLian’s website online or come find us at Paddington Art and Craft Market every Saturday (not open on Youth Day).

Oh, I took my lunch break to get some pictures for you guys.

LOL. When I’m choosing which stall to buy from. These 2 guys were singing with their cute guitars there. Sorry mate, I just had to include you in my blog. Pay me because I’m publicizing you.

The first thing I bought in Sydney. A waffle named “Devil” at La Waffle stall in Paddington Market. Looks yummy huh? I’m going to try other types of waffle next time.

My lunch, hotdog with cheese. Looks ugly, tastes ugly. Waste my AUD6.50. No more hotdog from that store.

Then I saw this … *SHOCK* … so the sweet corns at Boleh-land is genetically modified? Genetically modified corns that have the ability to mutate like “The Hulk”? What the …

Then I saw this stall after eating. Seriously, sometimes before we go into a massage center. We go in with a :) then leave it with :( . Because the during the massage, the experience of your muscles are being squashed and your bones being pressured makes you wanna cry! On top of that, it’s darn expensive !

You can even see like dozens of dogs the whole day. But who needs a damn dog when I can choose to have the Wizard of the Oz’s Robot (doggie style). I don’t need to feed it, tame it, sleep it or what so ever. For those who doesn’t know, here’s the picture for the robot of Wizard of the Oz.

The Paddington Art and Craft Market closes at 4PM because sun sets at about 5PM. Paddington Art and Craft market is also another must-go place if you want to spend your holiday in Australia

So we got home by about 6PM and Sherlyn made us the best baked rice I’ve ever tasted. Better than Kim Gary, stupid restaurant.

Oh and tomorrow I will be going to another market at Kiribilli. What a weird name.
